The Victorian Government established a Board of Inquiry into historical child sexual abuse at Beaumaris Primary School and certain other government schools in June 2023.
The inquiry gave victim-survivors the opportunity to put their experiences on the public record and aimed to provide a level of healing for victim survivors, secondary victims and communities.
Public hearings were held over 7 days between late October 2023 and late November 2023.

The Board of Inquiry’s findings and recommendations report was tabled in Parliament on Wednesday 6 March 2024.

The Victorian Government delivered its response to the Board of Inquiry’s recommendations on Wednesday 19 June.

Report abuse if you're a current or former student
Any person who is experiencing or has experienced sexual abuse either recently or in the past, as a Victorian government school student, can seek information about supports and how to report the abuse via the Department of Education Report abuse webpage or Victoria Police.
