Amber - an Enhanced Pathways Program Participant

[video open with gentle music playing and the Specialist Family Violence Practitioner and Enhanced Pathways Program participant, Amber, facing the camera]

I'm Amber and I'm a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner at the Salvation Army.

As part of my program in the Social Work degree I had the opportunity to take part in the Enhanced Pathways Program.

I think it has its challenges but overall it's extremely rewarding to know that you've helped a woman and her children be safer from family violence and build the resilience.

So the benefits of this program to my career is an obvious one, I've actually been employed at the Family Violence Service as an ongoing case manager.

I definitely would recommend this program to students because it's a perfect balance of professional practice and learning and it helps workers to guide them into future employment in the sector.
