Gary Workman, Principal Partner, Apprenticeship Employment Network: We've got some amazing young people doing some fantastic things, and the awards really showcase the best of our young people and what vocational education and training space can do.

Gayle Tierney, Minister for Skills and TAFE: These awards represent 70 years of resilience and determination. That is why TAFE and training is at the heart of Victoria's future, and that is evident in the passion of our VET students.

Xavier Csar - Chief Executive Officer, Office of TAFE Co-ordination and Delivery: And the winner is Carly Brown.

Carly Brown, Trainee of the Year: I'm truly honoured and grateful to receive this award tonight. This achievement would not have been possible without the support and encouragement of so many wonderful people in my life.

Dr Adam Bignold, Teacher or Trainer of the Year: These awards are a fantastic recognition of all the hard work that teachers and everybody behind the scenes do for our students.

Taylor Hampton, Koorie Student of the Year: It's really an honour to be recognised. The feeling was indescribable. I'm so proud, I'm blessed, I'm honoured, I'm chuffed, I'm everything with that emotion. It's a great feeling to be able to win this award. It's an unreal feeling.
