Trade and technology careers are for everyone.

Trade & Tech Fit is Victoria’s largest hands-on career expo dedicated to connecting female and gender diverse secondary students with trade and technology industries.

It allows attendees to imagine new possibilities for their career goals. In 2024, 127 schools brought 3,384 students to Trade & Tech Fit.

Broaden your female and gender diverse students’ study and career possibilities by bringing a group to Trade & Tech Fit.

What to expect

The Trade & Tech Fit career expo provides a safe and equitable space where students engage with tradies, apprentices and industry professionals, providing insight into the breadth of career pathways where female and gender diverse people are underrepresented.

The expo includes more than 100 exhibitors from a huge range of industries, including:

  • building, construction & engineering
  • refrigeration, electrical & plumbing
  • automotive, marine, aviation & aerospace
  • solar & wind clean energy
  • foundry and mining
  • transport and logistics
  • agriculture & horticulture
  • gaming, cloud & robotics
  • civil assets management & infrastructure
  • defence, essential services & fire protection.

The expo was solely dedicated to girls and gender diverse [students], very engaging and interactive. Presenters very informative. Loved everything about it.

After attending the 2024 expo:

  • 50% of students said they’re now interested in trades and tech careers, and 45% said they would consider a career in trades or technology
  • 88% of teachers who brought students said they are more inclined to recommend trades and technology study pathways to their female and gender diverse students.
