Actions / Critical dates:

Learn Local providers register for Engaging Employers Professional Development Program commencing with an introductory webinar on 13 July 2022 at SBMS Upcoming Events.

The Small Business Mentoring Service (SBMS) on behalf of the ACFE Board is offering a Learn Local Engaging Employers Professional Development Program.

This Program has been developed in recognition of the many significant changes to our working population caused by both lockdowns and COVID isolation requirements including relocation from city to regional locations, working from home and staff shortages.

The Program aims to help individual Local Local providers become a critical partner in helping local employers and industries facing ongoing significant challenges in finding, training and engaging workers within local communities to get potential employees job-ready in a truly targeted and community relevant way.

The Program includes:

  • Introductory webinar
  • Instructional workshops online
  • Private mentoring
  • Facilitated Community Working Group Sessions

The Introductory webinar on 13 July 2022 will explain the concept, aims and delivery methodology of the PD Program to Learn Local Managers/Coordinators and/or CoM Members.

The Instructional workshops are four-fold, for Learn Local staff charged with Business Development functions.

The Private mentoring sessions are by locally-based SBMS Mentors to assist with identification and introduction to appropriate local business groups/industries who need employee-appropriate workplace training and networking fostering between these parties and marketing plans/collateral creation for identified solutions.

The above three components are open to all Learn Local Providers.

The Facilitated Community Working Group Sessions will be by application and include 1 for each of the 8 ACFE regions in Term 3 and 1 for each of the 8 Regions in Term 4. These Sessions will bring together appropriate local business, industry, local government, Learn Local providers and other educational bodies and assist them with creation and implementation of relevant workplace training and job placement opportunities and pathways for their respective local communities.

Learn Local providers can register for the Engaging Employers Program at SBMS Upcoming Events.
