We’re closing the intersection and sections of Hampstead, Williamson, and Wests roads from 10pm, Thursday 7 November to Wednesday 27 November.
Our team will be working 24-hours a day installing tram tracks, overhead poles, wiring and kerbing on Williamson and Hampstead roads and on the project site.
Detours will be in place for drivers and pedestrians, as well as changes to bus routes 215, 406 and 408 and Route 82 trams.
Access to homes will be maintained at all times. See inside for more information about changes to how you travel.

Changes to how you travel
Changes to shopping precincts
Access will be maintained for the shopping precincts at Waterford Gardens and 98-108 Hampstead Road, on the corner of Hampstead and Williamson roads, with some changes in place.
Access to Waterford Gardens will be via Williamsons and Wests roads.
Access to and from the shopping precinct on the corner of Hampstead and Williamson roads will be:
- From 10pm, Thursday 7 November to 5am Saturday 16 November via Williamson Road.
- From 5am, Saturday 16 November to Wednesday 27 November via Hampstead Road via Alder and Botany streets and Wattle Road.
Customers are encouraged to continue to support local businesses and retailers during these works.

Road detours
We’re closing the intersection and sections of Hampstead, Williamson, and Wests roads from 10pm, Thursday 7 November to Wednesday 27 November.
- Hampstead Road will be closed between Williamson and Wattle roads.
- Access to Alder Street will be via Botany Street and Wattle Road.
- Access to residential properties will be maintained at all times.
- Please plan ahead, allow extra time when travelling through the area and follow the direction of traffic management and detour signage.
Pedestrian detours
During these works, there will be changes to pedestrians access, with detours in place.

These detours will change depending on the location of our works. Please follow the direction of traffic management and detour signage.
Changes to Route 82 Tram
Buses replace trams on Route 82 from 11pm, Friday 15 November to last tram on Tuesday 26 November.
Replacement buses will detour via Rosamond Road while crews work in the tram corridor. During works we’re temporarily closing tram stops:
- Stop 48 Raleigh Road and Wests Road
- Stop 49 Highpoint Shopping Centre and Wests Road
- Stop 50 Williamson Road and Wests Road
- Stop 64 Footscray Station
Replacement buses will stop at all remaining Route 82 tram stops.

Changes to Bus routes 215, 406 and 408
Detours will be in place for the route 215, 406 and 408 buses including the Route 406 night network service from 10pm, Thursday 7 November to Wednesday 27 November.
Passengers will be able to catch the bus from all existing bus stops outside of these detour routes.
Selected bus stops on Hampstead and Williamson roads between Rosamond Road and Mitchell Street will be closed.
Passengers should allow an additional 15 minutes of travel time.
