Maidstone Construction update – November 2024 – 24-hour road works in November

We’re building a new tram maintenance and stabling facility for Melbourne’s new next-generation G Class trams in Maidstone. The accessible trams will start rolling out locally in the west on routes 57, 59 and 82.

We’re closing the intersection and sections of Hampstead, Williamson, and Wests roads from 10pm, Thursday 7 November to Wednesday 27 November.

Our team will be working 24-hours a day installing tram tracks, overhead poles, wiring and kerbing on Williamson and Hampstead roads and on the project site.

Detours will be in place for drivers and pedestrians, as well as changes to bus routes 215, 406 and 408 and Route 82 trams.

Access to homes will be maintained at all times. See inside for more information about changes to how you travel.

We know these works are disruptive and thank the community for their patience.
