Designing and constructing new buildings following sustainable practices is crucial to reducing emissions and waste from commercial and residential buildings.
Skills and occupations required
New skills and knowledge will be necessary to facilitate sustainable design and construction of buildings. Architects, construction managers and workers need to know sustainable practices and building techniques, sustainable materials, installation of renewable energy infrastructure and waste management.

Safe, efficient and sustainable construction and operation of ports are key to Victoria’s economic growth. There is a transition to using cleaner energy sources like hydrogen to power port operations.
Skills and occupations required
With ports increasingly adopting alternative fuels such as LNG and hydrogen, renewable energy experts, various engineers, including marine engineers, supply chain and project managers, plumbers and gas fitters are required to install and maintain the necessary infrastructure.
