Public Libraries Victoria is inviting kids to keep reading this summer with the Big Summer Read.
Now in its fifth year, the program helps stop the “summer slide” — when children lose reading skills over the holidays.
Victorians under 18 can join through the Big Summer Read website. They can track their books, earn digital badges, and win prizes.
Parents can also take part by reading to their younger children.
Four state winners will receive a Zoos Victoria family membership. Other prizes include book packs and local rewards from nearby libraries.
The Big Summer Read encourages families to visit their local library for free books and resources that keep kids learning and growing.
The program is run by Public Libraries Victoria with support from Local Government Victoria.
