Our Gender Equality Advisory Group

The new Gender Equality Advisory Group will be launching soon.

We are forming a new group that will provide advice on the implementation of Our equal state, Victoria’s gender equality strategy and action plan.

Members

The Gender Equality Advisory Group will have up to 10 members and will also include Department of Families, Fairness and Housing executives and the Commissioner for Gender Equality in the Public Sector.

The Victorian based members will have:

  • gender equality expertise relating to one or more of the five priorities of Our equal state:
    • cultural change
    • health and wellbeing
    • safety and respect
    • economic equity
    • public sector leadership
  • a deep understanding of intersectionality, which may include lived experience
  • high level conceptual skills, including the ability to form complex ideas into clear recommendations and actions
  • effective communication skills, including experience in providing constructive, independent advice
  • confidence in strategic engagement with government, or advocacy on public affairs issues
  • the ability to constructively work with others on committees or in groups.

In line with Our equal state, the Gender Equality Advisory Group recognises that gender equality must always be trans and gender diverse inclusive, and we are actively seeking diverse, representative voices that reflect the principles of the strategy.
