The Victorian Government is partnering with the Australian Olympic Committee, Paralympics Australia and City of Melbourne to host a homecoming event for Australia’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

This free, family-friendly event will be held from 3.30 pm on Saturday 14 September at Melbourne Park Oval and will give fans a chance to congratulate and engage with the Victorian Olympians and Paralympians who wore the green and gold in Paris.

Bring your family, friends, your best selfie smile, something to be signed - and don’t forget to dress in green and gold!

Fans of all ages will be treated to a range of entertainment at the event, with live sport activations, DJs, food trucks, and the chance to meet and interact with their favourite sports stars.

Melbourne is the sporting capital of Australia, and we are proud to welcome home and congratulate our Victorian athletes from the Paris 2024 world stage.

How to get there

By public transport

Public transport is the quickest and easiest option. Before you attend, plan ahead and allow extra travel time for any major disruptions.

By car

Parking is available at the Eastern Plaza Car Park (Entrance D, Olympic Boulevard). It is recommended that you pre-book your parking due to limited capacity. Bookings close at midnight the night before the event.

Accessibility

  • A reserved accessible viewing area will be available in front of the stage on the left.

  • Official speeches and interviews will be Auslan interpreted. The Auslan interpreter will be positioned to the left of the stage in from of the accessible viewing area.

  • A hearing loop will be positioned on stage and available for those who require assistive listening.

  • First Aid services will be available at this event.

  • An Assistance Animal Relief Area will be available behind the stage area.

  • Please be aware that pyrotechnics will be in use at this event and will include sudden and loud sounds when fired.
