Postgraduate employment-based teaching degrees

Accelerate your teaching career with real on-the-job experience while you study.

How postgraduate employment-based programs work

You could complete a postgraduate Master of Teaching degree within 1.5-2 years with the support of:

  • a government-funded scholarship
  • the benefit of learning from experienced teachers by being employed in a government school while you study

Eligibility

Students will study to qualify to teach in two subject areas where:

  • subject area 1 is either English, Maths, Science, and/or Specialist Studies
  • subject area 2 is your choice of a complementary field

You must have the ability to work in a priority location across Victoria in a secondary or specialist government school.

Each higher education provider will have requirements for admission. Contact them directly for more information.

Selection is based on:

  • merit
  • likelihood of success, and
  • availability of places in the course.
