Liquor data and documents

Find and request access to data and documents about the liquor industry.

You can access a wide range of data and information on the liquor industry and liquor licences.

You do this either by:

  • accessing free publicly-available information
  • making a Freedom of Information (FOI) request.

Find a current licence

Search for a current liquor licence or application on the Liquor Licences and Applications website.

Liquor data on a map

You can view and download liquor data on the Victorian Government's Digital Twin Victoria website(opens in a new window).

Digital Twin is a virtual representation of real-world infrastructure.

It allows you to explore Victorian Government information through different map layers. For example:

  • land and property data
  • population figures
  • planning schemes
  • liquor licence data for active permanent licences.

This information is available for each liquor licence:

  • licence number
  • licence type
  • local government area
  • name and address of licensed venue or location
  • latitude and longitude of the licensed venue or location.

Liquor licence data is updated monthly.

Due to the volume of data you can access with this link, we suggest viewing it on a desktop rather than mobile device.

You can download a data file of the same information on the DataVic website.

Freedom of Information requests

You can make a Freedom of Information (FOI) request to access data that is not already published.

You make these requests through the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner.

Read about your FOI rights and how to make an FOI request.

You need to pay a processing fee.

What you can request

You have a right to request information on:

  • your personal affairs, including changing or removing incorrect or misleading information we may have about you
  • Liquor Control Victoria's activities (check if these are already published in the Department of Justice and Community Safety annual report)
  • application documents for a finalised liquor licence application
  • previous red line plans, copies of licences or renewal notices (you can ask for this information but we may not be able to release it).

You cannot request:

  • personal contact details for liquor licensees or applicants.
