On 13 June 2025, the Victorian Liquor Commission determined at the conclusion of a public disciplinary action inquiry to impose a $15,000 fine against a former licensee, Ryans Family Hotel Pty Ltd (under administration), for a venue known as Ryan’s Hotel, in Traralgon.

The Commission also disqualified the director of this former licensee from holding a liquor licence until 30 June 2026. Further, the Commission disqualified a manager for the former licensee from holding a liquor licence for a 3-month period.

Deputy Chairperson James O’Halloran said “The Commission expects all licensees to meet their liquor licence obligations. Where standards fall short, disciplinary action will be taken to protect the public and uphold confidence in the regulatory system."
