Many organisations are prescribed under both the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) and the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS). The following resources will assist organisations to implement and use both schemes.
For resources related to the MARAM Framework, visit the MARAM practice guides and resources page.
All organisations and services prescribed as Information Sharing Entities (ISEs) can access the online ISE list. The online ISE list is a database that can be used to identify other organisations and services prescribed under the Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme and the Child Information Sharing Scheme.
ISEs are prescribed under the:
- Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme as specified by the Family Violence Protection (Information Sharing and Risk Management) Regulations 2018.
- Child Information Sharing Scheme as specified by the Child Wellbeing and Safety (Information Sharing) Regulations 2018.

The responsible Minister has issued Guidelines under Part 5A of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008, which are legally binding for all ISEs (except courts). The Guidelines provide direction to ISEs on how to apply Part 5A in sharing information with other ISEs in relation to assessing or managing risk of family violence and includes guidance and resources to ensure that information is shared appropriately and responsibly.
The Guidelines have been updated to reflect Phase 2 of the reforms which commenced on 19 April 2021.
