BYO permit annual renewal fees

Calculate your indicative annual renewal fee for your BYO permit.

Under the Liquor Control Reform Regulations 2023, the renewal fee for a BYO permit is calculated using the formula:

Renewal fee = base fee for a BYO permit + risk fees (if applicable).

Your indicative renewal fee

The base fee for the BYO permit is $381.30.

  • Venues with a 4-star rating receive a 5% discount.
  • Venues with a 5-star rating receive a 10% discount.

To find your star rating, search for your BYO permit on Liquor Licences and Applications Online.

For more information on how your venue’s star rating is calculated, see Demerit point and star rating systems for liquor licensing.

Your renewal fee for your BYO permit will likely be one of the following*:

$381.30 (when no discount applicable)

or

$362.24 (with a 4-star rating 5% discount applied),

or

$343.17 (with a 5-star rating 10% discount applied).

* The above renewal fees do not cover BYO permits that have incurred at least one demerit point between 1 October 2022 and 30 September 2025.

If your BYO permit has incurred at least one demerit point, your renewal fee will include both a base fee of $381.30 and an additional non-compliance risk fee. If this applies to your permit, please refer to the Non-compliance risk fee section on the How your renewal fee is calculated page.
