The Victorian Government is building a new tram maintenance and stabling facility for Melbourne’s new next-generation G Class trams on part of the 61 – 71 Hampstead Road site in Maidstone. The accessible, comfortable and energy-efficient trams will start rolling out in the west on routes 57, 59 and 82 from 2025.

What we’re doing

Trucks will drive on local streets during the closure of the intersection of Hampstead, Williamson and Wests roads.

Where and when we’ll be working

We’ll be working on the intersection and sections of Hampstead, Williamson and Wests roads from 9pm Friday 6 October to Saturday 28 October.

Trucks will travel to and from the work site via Williamson Road, and Waterford and Central Park avenues while the intersection is closed.

Changes to the way you travel

Traffic management will be in place for the safety of the community and workforce. Follow the reduced speed limits and detours when travelling around the area.
